About SAGE

The future of AI will be shaped by human judgment.

SAGE for AI is an independent research initiative exploring how people make better decisions with artificial intelligence.

Why SAGE exists

Artificial intelligence is changing how people work, learn, decide, and create.

Most research focuses on making AI more capable. Far less attention has been given to how humans make decisions while using it.

Yet every interaction with AI begins with a human decision.

The question we ask. The prompt we write. The answer we trust. The information we verify. The moment we decide whether AI should assist—or whether human judgment should lead.

These choices influence quality, trust, sustainability, learning, and society itself.

SAGE exists to study those decisions—not to compete with AI, but to help people use it more thoughtfully.

Principles

01

Human judgment matters

AI should strengthen thoughtful decision making, not remove responsibility from it.

02

Evidence before certainty

We value curiosity, testing, transparent limitations, and learning in public.

03

Practicality matters

Research should help people and organizations make better choices in real situations.

04

Sustainability is behavioral

Responsible AI use depends not only on infrastructure, but also on everyday human decisions.

Founder

Praveen Gangaraju

For more than two decades, Praveen worked in commercial leadership across Asia and North America, including mission-critical infrastructure, market development, and strategic partnerships.

His work consistently centered on helping organizations make better decisions. A sustainability research project at UCLA Anderson led him to a new question: how do people make better decisions with AI?

That question became SAGE.
